Three HGP students appeared on area high school sports radio show

On Saturday, October 7th the Soccer Alumni picnic and Fran Nick field dedication will be held.  At least 8 Fathers' Association volunteers are needed to assist with the cookout.  If you can set a few hours aside between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., please forward an email with your availability  -

The Fathers Association is a service organization.  Membership is open to fathers and guardians of students and alumni of Holy Ghost Preparatory School.  Monthly membership meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Sager Conference Room.

As a service organization the Fathers Association provides socialcultural and service benefits to HGP. 

·         The social events include, but are not limited to providing support for planning and conducting the soccer tailgate event, ski trip, go-kart racing and the father/son retreat.

·         Cultural activities include the planning and key note speaker arrangements for the Communion Breakfast in May and speakers and programs that may include faculty members.

·         Service events include parking support and management at HGP school activities including the Open House, Mother’s Guild Craft Fair, dances, and HGP graduation. We also handle the planning, managing, and implementation of the Christmas Blessing donations to needy families in surrounding parishes. We also run community service projects such as the HGP Chapel cleanup and Libertae grounds work days.

Mothers' Guild General Meeting - This Monday, October 2, 2017

Whether you are a new mom or guardian at HGP, attend Mothers’ Guild meetings regularly or haven’t been to a meeting in a while, we invite you to join us…and bring another HGP mom along with you!  Our second meeting of the year is this Monday, October 2, 2017. We will begin with 7:00 p.m. Mass in the Chapel, followed by our meeting and refreshments in the dining hall. The school store will be open, and we will have information about the upcoming Craft Show and other future events. Volunteers are needed to help with food donations, set-up, and clean-up. Junior Ring Mass and Reception - Sunday, November 5, 2017

Mothers' Guild Annual Poinsettia Fundraiser - Order Now

Take this opportunity to purchase high quality poinsettias for your home or as holiday gifts for friends and family while supporting HGP!  In keeping with Holy Ghost tradition, you can also donate a poinsettia in memory of a loved one to decorate the Chapel altar. Ambassador Program for Mothers New to HGP

The Mothers’ Guild at HGP is pleased to roll out a new program this year to help welcome new mothers into the Mothers’ Guild and the HGP community. HGP’s Ambassador program will match freshman mothers with seasoned sophomore, junior, and senior mothers to answer questions regarding Mothers’ Guild events, functions, and volunteer opportunities as well as to share news of important events.  If you wish to volunteer to be an Ambassador, or would like to have an Ambassador mentor you in your first year, please fill in the attached form and email to

Mothers' Guild Dues Donation

The Mothers' Guild would appreciate a suggested donation of $15 per son/class to assist with offsetting the costs of the various community-building events we host each year, such as the Graduation Reception, Ring Mass Reception, Alumni Mom and Senior Mom Celebrations, and Christmas Dinner. Four HGP students become Eagle Scouts

Four current Holy Ghost Prep students—Anthony Leipziger '18, Brendan Mindiak '18, Bryan Quigley '18, and Jack O'Connell '18—recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank anyone can receive in the Boys Scouts of America. To read more about them, click here


HGP's next dance: Friday, Oct. 13

HGP's next dance is Friday, October 13 from 7-10 p.m. in the Firebird Fieldhouse.  Tickets will be on sale the week of the dance for $8 in advance, $10 at the door.  Guys from other schools MUST have a presale ticket bought for them by a HGP student in order to attend.  Girls can purchase them at the door.  All attendees must be a valid high school ID.


Save the Date: Educators' Symposium on Oct. 11

Holy Ghost Prep will be hosting its annual Educators' Symposium on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 on campus.  Mariale M. Hardiman, Ed.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Education will be our guest speaker.  Dr. Hardiman's topic is How the Learning Sciences Inform Teaching and Learning: The Brain-Targeted Teaching Method. The evening begins at 5:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception.  Dr. Hardiman's presentation will be at 6:15 p.m.  After the presentation, dinner will be served. Kaplan SAT Prep Class

Holy Ghost Prep is partnering with Kaplan to prepare our students for the SAT test. Through this partnership, Kaplan will provide, at a discounted price, a Fundamental SAT Test Preparation course for students at Holy Ghost Prep. This prep class will be for the December 2017 SAT Test.

HGP Class of 2018: It's time to register for Senior Retreats 

It is time to register for senior retreats. The HGPACT retreat is an opportunity for seniors to reflect on their time at HGP, grown their spirituality, and experience time away with their class. 
The three retreat dates will be:
Oct. 18-21, 2017
Nov. 29-Dec. 2, 2017
Jan. 31-Feb. 3, 2018
Students can register for the retreats now by  "Click here to access the HGPACT Registration form and then simply fill it out and return it to the Campus Ministry office. There is limited space on each retreat.
