HGP Celebrates Private Support for Student Scholarships

Nearly a hundred members of the Holy Ghost Prep community joined together in Founders’ Hall on October 30 as the School recognized private philanthropic support at the inaugural President’s Reception for Donors and Scholars.  Click Here for some Pix

Among the students in attendance were recipients of many of the funds made possible by generous private contributions from alumni, parents, faculty and friends.  For most, it was a first-time opportunity for donors to meet current HGP students who have benefitted most from charitable giving.  To consider and make a gift in support of the Holy Ghost Fund, which largely underwrites scholarship needs, click here.

Currently, approximately 40% of HGP students receive some form of scholarship funding, amounting in grants in excess of $1 million.

Ghost Around the World Penny War: Your Change Can Change the World!

Ghost around the World is sponsoring a Penny War from now until Monday 11/10 to benefit the Holy Ghost Fathers Tengeru Vocational School  in Tanzania, Africa.   They have recently opened the vocational school to girls--a very unusual educational opportunity for women in Africa.   Father Arnold embarked on building a girls' dorm, but ran out of money.    He contacted Mrs. Posey and asked for help--all they needed was $3500 to finish the dorm.

So after raising some $2300, Ghost Around the World needs just $1200 more--that's only $2.60  a student.  The Unum Cohorts are competing in the Penny War, and the group that brings in the most money will win a free dress down day.

Contact Mrs. Posey with any questions.
