Soccer Wins State Championship
The Holy Ghost Prep soccer team defeated Lancaster Mennonite 3-1 in front of a massive HGP crowd at the Hershey Park Stadium. The Firebirds path to the title includes victories over Saucon Valley, and all three elite PIAA District 3 soccer qualifiers Gettysburg High School, Fleetwood High School and Lancaster Mennonite. The team became the first boys AA soccer team to successfully defend a state title since 2006. Coach Ken Lawson '92 and associate head coach Davey Simpson become the first HGP coaches to win 2 state championships in consecutive years.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10. Girls from any school are invited to attend. Non-HGP male students may attend if they have registered with Mr. Vierlink or Ms. McKelvie and purchase a pre-sale ticket prior to the dance through an HGP student.

Nine HGP Musicians Selected for All Catholic Ensembles
We are proud to announce that the following Holy Ghost Musicians have been selected to participate in All Catholic musical organizations.
Luigi Galzerano (Alto Saxophone) has been selected to participate in the All Catholic Jazz Band for 2014-15. The All Catholic Jazz Band rehearses twice monthly at Villanova University and performs at frequently at events throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia during the school year.
Alexander Deola (String Bass) and Brendan Massello (Violin) have been selected for participation in the All Catholic Orchestra for the 2014-15 school year. Both students have been members of this ensemble since their freshman year at HGP. The All Catholic Orchestra Festival will be held at Little Flower High School March 6, 7, and 8, culminating in a concert at 2 PM on March 8, 2015. Brendan Massello has recently returned from an 11 day concert tour of Italy with the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County, in which he has been a member for four years under the direction of Robert Loughran.
Scott Ramirez, Charles Lawall, Noah Tapp, David Connuck, Brandon Cimino, and Collin Cimino have been selected for the All Catholic Chorus for the 2014-15 school year. The All Catholic Chorus Festival will be held January 30, 31, and February 1st at Roman Catholic High School concluding with in a concert at 2:00 PM on February 1, 2015. Brendan and Collin Cimino are also members of the prestigious Savio Boys Choir under the direction of Mr. Thomas Windfelder, former director of the Archdiocesan Boys Choir.The Savio Choir will tour Spain this coming summer.
All Catholic Concert Band Auditions will be held at 8:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, Delaware County.

The last day to submit a request for a transcript, before Christmas, is Friday, December 12, 2014. Make sure you look to see if you have any January 1deadlines as they must be submitted by 12/12/14. You will be able to request transcripts again on January 5, 2015.

Reunion Events on Tap for Classes of 1975 and 1965
Holy Ghost Prep alumni are already at work developing plans to commemorate their commencement anniversaries in the upcoming months.
The Class of 1975 at both Holy Ghost and Nazareth Academy High School will join together for a reunion dinner at Marco Polo Ristorante in Elkins Park, PA, on Saturday, December 27. Friends from other graduation classes are also invited.
The Class of 1965 will observe its 50th anniversary as guest of honor at Holy Ghost Prep’s Commencement, scheduled for Saturday, May 30. A reunion luncheon will be hosted by HGP following the ceremonies.

Freshman Campus Ministers Begin Training
Mr. Ryan and Junior Sacristan Michael England began the training of the Freshmen who joined Campus Ministry this year. The new Campus Ministers have been given the responsibility of being Altar Servers, Crucifer, Lectors and Ministers of Hospitality at the upcoming All School Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8.
The new Campus Ministers include: Collin Cimino, Ryan Taylor, Patrick Oniate, Patrick McLean, Brandon Cimino, Owen Sienko, Matthew Doucette, Mark Pabalan, Mike Charlton, Tom Geib and Dillon LaCorte.
