HGP Honor Roll for the Fall Semester 2015

It's not how you start, it's how you finish. The first semester honor roll is rather lengthy. 58 percent of the entire student body made it onto the honor roll.  Click here for a complete description. 

Class of 2019 Starts to Take Shape

2014-2015 has been another extremely busy year for the admissions office.  The Class of 2019 is taking shape and we are starting to plan for our Incoming Freshmen Mass on March 1st and the introductions of the Unum Orientation Teams.

Did You Know? Families continue to apply to HGP throughout the Winter and Spring.  Every year we process transfer applications and students in 8th grade that got a late start on applying for freshman year.

HGP Music News

Fifteen Holy Ghost Prep students accompanied by Dr. Patricia O'Connor, Mrs. Beth Vilsmeier, and students and their teachers from Nazareth Academy High School attended "Oscar", a  new Opera Company of Philadelphia production about the life of the Irish playwright, Oscar Wilde, on Wednesday, February 4th. 
Anthony Manfredonia, HGP Class of 2011 recently won a National Musical Composition Competition sponsored by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. His orchestra piece "Through the Tunnels and Back" will  be performed by the Pittsburgh Symphony on March 21, 2015. Anthony was an Anthony Marchione Music Scholarship winner at HGP, sang in the Chorus, served as Cantor for HGP Liturgies, and had leading roles in several of the HGP musical productions. BRAVO to Anthony Manfredonia!

Each year the Senior Class is celebrated at the Mother Son Dinner Dance with a baby picture contest as well as a slide show.   We need each senior mom to send in pictures of their son! Pictures need to be sent in NOW!  For more details on sending in photos please click here.

Fathers' Association Ski and Snowboard Trip to Blue Mountain - Sunday, February 22, 2015

All ticket prices include full-day access, lunch and snacks.
We provide sandwiches, snacks, and drinks in the afternoon.
Plan to meet us between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. in the Summit
Lodge, Club Room to get your lift ticket.  Look for us in the

SENIORS, please continue to bring in copies of letters of acceptance and scholarship awards  to Ms. Dougherty in the College Guidance Office.   As you recieve financial aid award letters, from ALL of the colleges to which you were accepted,  please save and submit to the College Guidance Office.   This information is confidential and is very important to keep our Naviance statistics up-to-date.

Winter Concussion Education and ImPACT Testing - Monday, Feb. 23rd

All students intending to play spring sports must attend the mandatory concussion education on Monday, February 23rd at 6pmin the Field House. Presentation will start at 6pm in the Field House and ImPACT testing will start at 6:45pm in Founders Computer Lab, Cornwells Computer Lab, Mr. Jordan's Room and Library. The testing will be completed by 7:30pm. Parents who are available are strongly encouraged to attend the educational presentation at 6pm.  

**Students who already completed testing for Fall and Winter Sports do NOT have to attend this training/testing. 

 Presentation Objectives:
-          What is a concussion?
-          Symptoms of a concussion
-          What is the ImPACT testing?
-          Importance of reporting a concussion
-          Who to contact after a concussion
-          Return to school protocol
-          How can the Brain STEPS Program help?
-          HGP return to play protocol
-          Dangers of playing with a concussion
-          What is Post- Concussion Syndrome?
-          What is second impact syndrome?

Senior Drew Petri Among Top Finishers in the Wendy's High School Heisman

Congratulations to senior golfer/baseball player Drew Petri (signed with Lafayette for Golf).  Drew finished as a state finalist in the Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship contest.  He was 1 of 10 student athletes from Pennsylvania to receive this honor. Drew was awarede a bronze medal for making it to the 3rd stage of 5 stages. He was in the top 5% overall.  

Bucks County Courier Times Golf Golden Team:

1st Team Steve Cerbara; 2nd Team Drew Petri and David Robbins;  Honorable Mention Dan Bishop and Jack LaRosa.
