2015 Commencement Address To Be Delivered By Thomas Kardish '79

Tom graduated from HGP in 1979 and received an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, and AB from Harvard University, magna cum laude. In addition to his significant leadership roles in the corporate and non-profit sectors, Tom serves as the Founder and Team Leader for a community engagement project in Haiti through his parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in Doylestown, Partnering with St. Jude parish in the Delmas slum of Port au Prince, the project has resulted in the construction of a modern primary care medical clinic, clean water and recycling efforts, the construction of a nearly complete church, primary and secondary school opportunities for the children and a fledgling trade school and adult education center which should break ground later this year. He has led youth groups the last three summers to Haiti with students from several area high schools, including Holy Ghost Prep. This self- funding and self- sufficient effort was recently highlighted by Catholic Philly.com: (http://catholicphilly.com/2015/02/news/local-news/doylestown-parishioners-raise-hope-in-haiti/), In Tom's words, the project is "a source of great joy for our entire school and parish." And it is a source of great joy and pride for all of us at Holy Ghost Prep.

Tom's son Christian graduated from HGP in 2014 and Tom currently serves as a member of the HGP Board of Trustees.

This is also the time when we meet families that would like to transfer into HGP next year.  Already this year we have met four new families that are interested in joining the HGP Community.  Do you know someone that might want to transfer to HGP?

2015 Senior Class Giving Campaign Launched!

As seniors have observed in their time here, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and others have often supported them by providing financial assistance for scholarships, academic programs and extracurricular activities. This year, it is their turn to give back by joining together, as the Class of 2015, to make a gift to the school and the students who follow them.

Generally, a gift from the Senior Class tends to vary from year-to-year depending on what each graduating class would like to do. This year, we announced that the Senior Class Campaign will be dedicated to raising enough dollars to buy a new gas grill for the HGP community. The grill that is purchased will provide recognition with a plaque that states “From the Class of 2015”.

Our biggest message to HGP Seniors? Their contribution – of any size – will count toward the ultimate goal of 100% participation from their class. For students to make a gift online toward the Class of 2015, visit www.hgponlinegiving.holyghostprep.org and select ‘Student Giving’ or contact Alexis Gettings, Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement at agettings@holyghostprep.org or by phone at 215-639-2102 ext. 204.
