Free HGP Math Program for 7th and 8th Graders
Session 1: Wednesday, September 23rd – 4:30pm – 6:00pm
Session 2: Wednesday, October 7th – 4:30pm- 6:00pm
Session 3: Wednesday – October 21st – 4:30pm-6:00pm
Session 4: Wednesday, November 4th – 4:30pm- 6:00pm
Session 5: Wednesday – November 18th – 4:30pm-6:00pm
Saturday, December 12th – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm *BY INVITATION*
The math sessions will cover introductory pre-algebraic and algebraic concepts.
Word problems, lessons on algebraic concepts, teamwork in solving problems, projects, and math games will be covered during the Wednesday afternoon sessions.
The math sessions are valuable test preparation for 7th & 8th grade Entrance Exams and Placement tests.
There is no cost for these sessions. Students who attend at least two of the sessions will be invited to the final Session on Saturday, December 12th to participate in the math modeling competition.

Sophomore Day of Service
On Friday, September 18th, the members of the Sophomore class will participate in the annual day of service. Each sophomore is invited to bring one male guest with him (father/grandfather/uncle/Godfather). Students and guests will be transported to various service sites in the area, as well as enjoy a prayer service and reflection session. Lunch will be provided. Please complete the on-line registration form below. The deadline to register is Friday, September 11th.
FY 15 Fundraising Eclipses Goals
The HGP Office of Advancement is delighted to announce that gifts from all sources reflected a 50% increase in contributions, sponsorships and events in the most recent fiscal year (7/1/14-6/30/15). Nearly $595,000 was secured - an increase of $198,000 over FY 14. In addition, HGP exceeded its fundraising goal ($425,000) by $170,000. Among fundraising achievements by the Holy Ghost Prep Community in FY 15:
- Alumni giving saw an increase of nearly $100,000 (66% increase), as $250,000 was contributed by HGP graduates;
- Alumni contributions that met certain criteria were matched by nearly $53,000 in gifts from three anonymous HGP alumni via the Alumni Challenge – an increase of $36,500;
- Gifts from current and alumni parents resulted in nearly $150,000 in gifts, approximately $70,000 more than a year earlier, an increase of 86%;
- There was 100% participation in giving by the HGP Board of Trustees and the Alumni Association executive board;
- HGP faculty and staff launched their inaugural campaign, and made gifts totaling nearly $30,000 – a 300% increase; and
- The Class of 2015 saw a 100% participation rate during its Senior Gift Campaign.
Charitable giving through the Holy Ghost (Annual) Fund and restricted contributions support scholarships, key initiatives, academic and extracurricular programs. Our thanks to the entire Holy Ghost Prep community!

MUSIC NEWS: Junior Charles Lawall Selected for Papal Choir
Charles Lawall was chosen to sing for the Papal mass in September. 50 students were selected by audition. They will be part of a choir consisting of several hundred adults who will be accompanied by the Philadelphia Orchestra. This is truly an honor for Charles and his family. HGP is very proud of him!

Mothers' Guild Welcome Tea - Sunday, September 20th at 11am
A time-honored tradition continues when the Mothers’ Guild hosts its annual HGP Mothers’ Tea on Sunday, September 20, 2015. All Holy Ghost Prep mothers are invited to attend and welcome the moms of the Class of 2019. Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel at 11 a.m., followed by a light luncheon in the School Dining Hall. Mothers' Guild Craft Show - Volunteers Needed
Calling all HGP Moms!! The Annual Craft show, November 14-15, 2015, is our biggest fundraiser, with all proceeds going to our boys. We need YOU to volunteer. Office of Advancement Attends Workshop at University of Notre Dame
Alexis Gettings, Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement, is shown in front of the iconic "Touchdown Jesus" mural at the University of Notre Dame earlier in August. Alexis and Pete Manetas, Executive Director of Advancement, attended a development workshop sponsored by Advancement Partners, along with colleagues from approximately 40 other Catholic secondary schools.
