2015-2016 Parent Education Series - Info From Mr. Danilak - Spoken and Written Language

I am happy to announce three presentations to help support our language initiative and leadership development of our students.  John Halligan, whose son tragically lost his life after the bullying became too much, will be on campus to share the lessons learned from his son’s tragedy.  He will also address the latest social media problems facing preteens and teens.  Dr. Shoshanna Edwards-Alexander, a professor of Education, Gender Studies and Sociology at St. Joseph’s University, will discuss the impact of language.  Her responsibilities included developing a comprehensive university-wide program that encourages understanding, appreciation and celebration of multiculturalism and cultural diversity.  We are also happy to welcome back SpeakUp to help us foster leadership.  SpeakUp! provides youth, educators and parents with the skills, opportunities and support to speak up and be heard on the critical issues of today.  After several workshops with Holy Ghost students, SpeakUp will facilitate discussions with parents, educators and peers on critical teen issues.
