New Driveway Opening on February 1, 2016

New Fieldhouse Driveway will open on February 1, 2016 - the driveway project is part of the development of the Activitiy Center.

The new driveway will be opening on Monday, February 1st.  As we approach this opening date, we wanted to remind you about the new traffic pattern for all vehicles that will be instituted in conjunction with the opening of the new driveway.   This new traffic pattern is detailed on the attached PDF file. On February 1st, the existing driveway near the baseball field will be closed.

As shown on the attached graphic, all traffic coming in via the new driveway will proceed counter-clockwise around the Fieldhouse.  There will be no left turn allowed at the bottom of the new driveway.  This traffic pattern will be reinforced with signage and directional arrows on the ground.

New Traffic Pattern:

For Morning Drop-off - Buses - will drop off students by turning right and proceeding into the outer lane and dropping off at the base of the hill.  Parents - will drop off students by going straight and proceeding into the inner lane and dropping off in front of the Fieldhouse.

For Afternoon Pickup - Buses -  will pick up students by turning right and proceeding into the outer lane and lining up at the far corner of the Fieldhouse.  Parents - will pick up students by going straight and proceeding into the inner lane and picking up their student behind the Fieldhouse.  If you need to wait for your student, please line up at the far corner of the Fieldhouse.

At afternoon pickup, the following safety notes are very important: students walking to their cars or to their buses should never walk between the buses in line and no cars should be in the outer bus lane until all the buses have departed. In addition, all drivers should always wait for and yield to any moving bus.

Mr. Tony Chapman, Dean of Students, will be communicating to the students about the new traffic pattern and opening date in the upcoming days. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Rich Malley, Director of Facilities, at ext. 237 or Tim Woods, CFO, at ext. 241

The Maguire Foundation

This past year Holy Ghost Preparatory School was given the unique opportunity to partner with the Maguire Foundation, a philanthropic enterprise  founded by James J. and Frances Maguire in October 2000 that focuses its resources on education. The Maguire Foundation provides grants to grade school, high school and college students so that they may have an opportunity to benefit from a quality education.

The Maguire Foundation’s mission is grounded in the teachings of St. Ignatius Loyola of being men and women for others.  The foundation believes that partnering with educational institutions to provide scholarship assistance to children and young adults will help build a strong foundation for success.

HGP’s partnership with Maguire Foundation brings unprecedented value and opportunity to students. The partnership provides scholarship assistance to freshmen each year and supports them through four years of high school, as well as college students with scholarship opportunities to support students in selectedinstitution’s through four years of matriculation.  The goal of the Maguire Scholars Program is to support and enrich the leaders oftomorrow.

There are two programs available for the Class of 2016:
