HGP Begins to Review Prospective Transfer Students
Each year, HGP receives transfer applications for students entering the 10th and 11th grades. Families interested in considering HGP should contact the admissions office to learn more about the transfer process.
It has been another year of strong interest in HGP. Over 120 students have registered for the Class of 2020 and more families continue to apply to be a part of our community!
Remember to get the word out about our 7th Grade Practice Exam -and to families considering HGP as a transfer option for their current freshmen, sophomore and junior sons.

HGP Summer Courses 2016
This summer Holy Ghost is offering five engaging summer semester courses to our academic program. These courses are a combination of class work and unique field experiences related to the topics of study. Participation in the courses is completely optional and designed to engage your son in real-world experiences. Please see a brief description of the courses and contact the appropriate teacher with questions. If you have questions about the overall program, please contact the principal, Mr. Danilak.
Any student interested in taking Statistical Reasoning in Sports this summer should see Ms. McKelvie for a registration form. This course offers students the opportunity to learn statistical reasoning concepts through the context of a variety of different sport applications. In addition to coursework, students will attend several trips to sports stadiums and studios.

Any student interested in taking Finance this summer should see Mr. Murtaugh for a registration form. Students in this course will evaluate investment theories, analyze investment data, and perform long-range investment strategy while balancing risk. Visits to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, investment firms, and the world finance capital of New York City are planned.

Any student interested in taking US Government and Politics this summer should see Dr. Saxton for a registration form. This course offers students the opportunity to gain an analytical perspective on government and politics in the United States. Field trips include the US Constitution Center in Philadelphia and centers of government in Harrisburg and Washington, D.C.

Any student interested in taking Journalism this summer should see Mr. Goulet for a registration form. This course allows students to gain experience in reporting, interviewing, writing and editing. Students will be introduced to the journalistic styles of news, editorial, feature, column and review. Field experiences include a visit to the Philadelphia Magazine office and the ESPN campus in Connecticut.

Any student interested in taking Indie Film, Theater and Creative Writing this summer should see Mr. Jordan for a registration form. This course will engage students in the literary and lively arts. Students will have the opportunity to see the best examples of film, theater and creative writing in the cultural centers of Philadelphia and New York City.

Mother-Son Dance – March 5, 2016

Attention Senior Moms – Pictures Needed
Each year the Senior Class is celebrated at the Mother-Son Dinner Dance with a baby photo contest, as well as a slide show. We need each senior mom to send in pictures of their son as a baby, and then fun photos throughout his years at HGP. Click here for information on how to submit your pictures. The deadline for baby photo submission has been extended to February 21.

Nominations for the 2016-17 Mothers’ Guild Executive Board will be accepted at the March Mothers’ Guild meeting. If you or someone you know has been considering joining the Mothers’ Guild board, now is your opportunity! Open positions include President, Senior Vice President, Junior Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary (2) and Alumni Secretary.
