"Pound for pound, we are the best."  So proclaimed Mr. Tom Eckerle, Assistant Director of Christian Service at Holy Ghost Prep.  HGP was named the Silver Medal Winner in the Philbundance Great Food Fight.  The award is given for the highest equivalent amount of pounds collected per student in the entire Delaware Valley. In total, HGP students collected the equivalent of more than 10 tons of food for Philabundance.

The Silver Award comes with a $5000 prize for the school.  The effort to help feed the hungry of the Philadelphia area was conducted during February by Mr. Eckerle and Junior Class Student Leaders of the SAIVE group (Students Against Injustice and Violence Everywhere).  Formed by student initiative, the SAIVE group empowers the junior class and the entire school community to work together on special social justice and service projects for the good of the greater community.
