The 2-day tournament featured five golfers within one stroke of each other. Liam was one stroke off the lead after the first round. Liam took the lead on day two and had a two stroke lead after 9 holes, but the competition grew as the tournament came toward the final moments. Liam hung on and finished with great consistency, compiling a 2-day score of 143 (one over par). Hart is the second HGP golfer to win the state title in three years (Steve Cerbara '16 won in 2015). Congratulations to Coach Mark Walder and the HGP Golf Team on another successful season!

Rowing: The Holy Ghost rowing team competed in their final two regattas of the season in Princton this past weekend, the aptly-named Philadelphia Frostbite and the Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta. Both races featured regional school and club teams, including local rivals such as Hun, Peddie, and St. Joe’s Prep, as well as powerhouse club programs. At the Frostbite, where temps in the morning started in the mid-20’s, HGP’s two varsity fours both placed third in their heats. The “A” boat placed 12th / 40 overall, just 2-3 seconds behind Philly rivals Judge, Radnor High School, the Hun School, and other teams they’ll be aiming to beat this spring.
At the Braxton Regatta it was time for the new rowers to shine – HGP’s novice eight placed sixth of 26 in their time trial, earning them a spot in the finals. In the finals, they placed 3rd – a great finish to a long fall. After two races already, four of those rowers – all freshmen – then jumped in another boat and raced for a third time. In their four they placed second in their heat, setting them up for a fantastic spring season. HGP’s rowers are looking forward to some well-deserved time off now, before heading indoors to put in the work before their spring season starts.
Soccer: Congratulations to the 2017 BAL All League Selections!
