Social Studies Teacher

Holy Ghost Prep, an all-boys, college preparatory school in Bensalem, PA for grades 9th through 12th, seeks a full-time Social Studies teacher and Forensics coach to begin August 23, 2021. This full-time position involves teaching students at all levels of social studies. Teachers are required to teach five classes in a collaborative environment with highly motivated students and an experienced faculty. In addition, a faculty member is expected to assume community responsibilities. 

Ideal candidates will possess:

·        Bachelors’ degree required

·        Master’s degree preferred

·        PA Teacher Certification and/or prior secondary school teaching experience desirable

·        AP Psychology teacher desirable

·        Forensics (Speech and Debate) coaching ability and experience desirable

·        Excellent knowledge and understanding of a broad base of historical content and analytical skills

·        Solid understanding of strategies to teach, assess, and promote effective upper level critical thinking/analytical skills to adolescent male learners

Learning Support Specialist

Holy Ghost Prep, an all-boys, grades 9th through 12th college preparatory school in Bensalem, Pa., seeks a full-time Learning Support Specialist. This full-time position involves essential skills and knowledge to guide students and parents as they navigate the academic challenges of high school. As a member of the Counseling department, the Learning Specialist works closely with teachers, students, and parents to develop, communicate, initiate, and implement comprehensive and strategic academic plans.

Ideal candidates will possess:

·        Bachelor’s degree required

·        Master’s degree preferred

·        Prior professional experience in high school setting desirable

·        Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

·        Excellent knowledge and understanding of the learning process and teaching process

·        Experience offering and supervising support for students with learning differences and academic needs.

·        Understanding of successful interventions to help diverse learners achieve success in a high school environment.

ATHLETIC STAFF OPENINGS:

Varsity Cross-Country Coach (Posted June 8, 2021): 

Holy Ghost Prep, an all-boys, grades 9th through 12th college preparatory school in Bensalem, Pa., seeks a varsity cross-country head coach.  The varsity head cross-country coach is required to oversee the entire HGP cross-country program, including the varsity team during all practices and meets.

The PIAA fall cross-country season goes from approximately mid-August into November. Practices and meets will be conducted during weekdays after classes and weekends as needed.

The head coach will perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the HGP Athletic Department and Administrative guidelines.  In addition, the head coach will complete all NFHS Courses for Concussion Safety, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Coaches Certification and CPR/First Aid.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Bachelors’ degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Prior secondary school cross-country coach experience desirable
  • Strong team management, effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to confer with parents and students in a cooperative effort to understand and encourage progress
  • Highest level of ethical and professional behavior and standards, acting as a role model for students

The head coach is directly responsible for practices, meet scheduling, directing home meets, coordinating away meets, and overseeing the needs and interests of the cross-country student-athletes.  

The head coach is responsible for attending PIAA Rules Interpretation Meetings and any league or district meetings as required.

The head coach shall manage the inventory of equipment at the end of the season and report needs to the HGP Athletic Director for the next season.

The head coach works in conjunction with the Athletic Director where necessary to provide school transportation to away contests. 

The head coach will be responsible to complete the season ending coaching self-evaluation administered by the Athletic Director.
