FACULTY OPENINGS:

Music Teacher/Director of HGP Music Program

Holy Ghost Prep, an all-boys, grades 9th through 12th college preparatory school in Bensalem, Pa., seeks a full-time music teacher to begin August 20, 2020. This full-time position involves teaching and engaging students at all levels of music instruction, including Advanced Placement courses. Teachers are required to teach at least five classes in a collaborative environment with highly motivated students and an experienced faculty. In addition, a faculty member is expected to assume community responsibilities such as coaching or moderating a student organization or club. As the Music Director, this position coordinates music for many school gatherings including Masses, musicals, graduation etc.   

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Bachelors’ degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • PA Teacher Certification and/or prior secondary school teaching experience desirable
  • Experience teaching music instruction strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of a broad base of musical skills and content
  • Solid understanding of strategies to teach, assess, and promote effective upper level instrumental skills to adolescent male learners
  • Strong classroom management skills, effective communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
  • Understanding and flexibility to connect with the adolescent male learner
  • Ability to confer with parents and students in a cooperative effort to understand and encourage progress
  • Understanding and appreciation of the mission of Holy Ghost Prep and a willingness to promote Spiritan values
  • Highest level of ethical and professional behavior and standards, acting as a role model for students

STAFF OPENINGS:

Assistant Director of Counseling

Holy Ghost Prep, an all-boys, grades 9th through 12th college preparatory school in Bensalem, Pa., seeks an Assistant Director of Counseling. This full-time, 12-month position involves essential skills and knowledge. As a member of the two person Counseling department, the Assistant Director works closely with students, parents, and school faculty to promote the social, emotional and academic development of college-bound young men. This person will also help build and enhance social and emotional programming and develop appropriate academic support strategies for students and faculty. Candidates should have a strong interest in working in a collaborative environment with highly motivated students and an experienced faculty. 

Ideal candidates will possess:

·       Bachelor’s degree required 

·       Master’s degree preferred 

·       Prior professional experience in high school counseling or an equivalent field 

·       Strong interpersonal and organizational skills 

·       Strong writing, speaking, and presentation skills 

·       Understand and value the mission of Holy Ghost Prep and a commitment to support and promote Spiritan values 

·       Knowledge of adolescent development, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, learning differences, social/emotional challenges, and effective interventions 

·       An ability to connect with the adolescent male learner 

·       Ability to consult and partner with parents, students, faculty, administration, and outside agencies in a cooperative effort to support academic, emotional, and social growth 

·       Highest level of ethical and professional behavior and standards, acting as a role model for students
