A Message from our President

Gregory J. Geruson is the 10th head of school since Holy Ghost Prep's transformation from a junior seminary in 1959.  A distinguished educator and administrator, Mr. Geruson is the first lay president in the the school’s 118-year history.

Dear Friends,

As an alumnus and the school’s President, I want to welcome you to Holy Ghost Prep. We are a community of faith and learning—driven by mission, focused on excellence, and defined by our Spiritan charism.

While we hope our website helps educate you about who we are and what we do, we also encourage you to visit our campus to experience our community and culture firsthand. Holy Ghost Prep offers world-class programming, features first-rate facilities, and has extraordinary teachers, staff, and learners. Ultimately what defines HGP—what makes this such a special place—is what it feels like to be a part of our Spiritan community.

There is a joyfulness and a brotherhood here; a palpable and powerful energy that stems from the relationships that underpin everything we do. Those relationships—between our students, between our students and faculty, and between the students and the curriculum—encourage and empower our young men to discover their unique gifts and to engage in ways they otherwise would never have considered. They try new experiences. They interact with new people. They encounter new perspectives and ideas. In embracing the unfamiliar and uncomfortable, our students grow in profound ways, and become not just their best selves, but a version of themselves that they may never have known existed before. In this way, our Holy Ghost Prep graduates leave us transformed and prepared for life.

So much of that transformation comes from our identity as a Spiritan school and an all-boys school. Our young men can engage in ways that might feel unavailable to them outside of Holy Ghost Prep; to serve others, be outwardly compassionate and empathetic, to reflect and share, to be vulnerable, to know their faith, to give support and to ask for support, to set high standards for themselves.

There has never been a more important or exciting time to be an all-boys school and to teach boys how to navigate our rapidly changing and increasingly complicated world. We need men of character, intellect, and compassion who will transform the world, and I am thrilled to lead an institution dedicated to that charge.

I invite you to explore our website, talk to our families, visit our school community, and experience for yourself what makes Holy Ghost Prep truly distinct.

In One Heart and One Mind,

Gregory J. Geruson ’79

President
