World Languages

The study of World Languages at Holy Ghost Prep is both an educational and a social experience. It is educational because the students learn the languages which we offer - Spanish, French and Latin - from the elementary to the advanced levels. Our emphasis is on meeting and exceeding the National Standards for both Modern and Classical languages. It is social because the students learn not only by traditional classroom work, but also by interaction with the teacher and with each other in and out of the classroom. Through the study of the cultures and a variety of cultural experiences arranged by the teachers, the students learn the language itself and experience the kind of intellectual and social broadening that is the unique advantage of studying foreign languages.
