Late Freshman and Sophomore Year

The process starts here when the students are freshman (most schools start in junior year)—this allows our students to build a more substantial relationship with their counselors and to start thinking earlier about their college plans and possible majors that might interest them. Students are assigned a college counselor in the second half of freshman year to help the freshmen with their first course selection, making sure that they are creating a solid academic transcript for college applications. It’s also a nice introduction to the boys  or the counselors. To streamline the process, the school has expanded the size of its college guidance staff, with each member of the three-person team serving approximately 30-40 students in each grade.
