Learning to perform with confidence is an integral part of music education at Holy Ghost Prep. Feeling comfortable in front of an audience is a skill that students find useful—not only in concerts but in life.

Holy Ghost Prep students have the luxury of learning from working musicians in state-of-the-art music instruction rooms in the Holt Center, which opened in the spring of 2018. For instance, Beth Vilsmeier, the music director at Holy Ghost Prep, is highly esteemed clarinetist who has played in orchestras all over the Delaware Valley. And she is a master teacher who approaches each student individually, with the goal of helping each one discover his musical identity.

Holy Ghost Prep offers a wide variety of musical avenues, including the concert band, jazz band, pit orchestra, and chorus. HGP vocalists and musicians have appeared locally and also in world-class venues such as Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center as members of All-Catholic band and chorus.
