Firebird Rowing Summer Program
For rising 10-12th graders.
The Firebird Rowing Summer Program aims to provide a competitive summer sweep and sculling opportunity for experienced, local high school athletes, who want to improve fitness, technique and gain racing experience. Unlike the spring scholastic season, our summer Firebird rowers can row in more than one event per regatta. Therefore, our scheduled races can provide as much or more racing experience than a HS rower sees from the March to May scholastic season.
For those freshmen/novices just completing their first spring season of racing, the summer session is a chance to work on technique and skill building, while adding to your racing base.
***Rowers taking part in the program are expected to be at practice sessions! Summer vacations should be planned accordingly. ***
Registration must be completed by a Parent or Guardian. Only athletes with completed registrations and a verified swim form/test will be permitted in a boat.
Swim Test: All athletes should know how to swim and be comfortable around the water. Please click the link here for our swim test form and have it completed/signed by a certified swim coach or lifeguard. Meeting our swim requirements through alternative means such as signed proof of swim team participation or a copy of an athlete’s valid lifeguard certification are also acceptable. If you completed a PSRA swim test during your regular season that is acceptable. Please submit paperwork to aboehm@holyghostprep.org or bring it to the first practice.
Refunds: There will be no refunds unless a sickness or injury occurs. Refunds must be promptly requested by contacting aboehm@holyghostprep.org A $50.00 processing fee will be applied. If a program is canceled by Firebird Rowing Club, full refunds will be issued.
