2018 season recap: The Firebirds were one of the most complete teams in the state, finishing with an impressive 20-2-1 record. Ken Lawson’s squad lost the District One Class 3A final to Strath Haven in overtime before reaching the PIAA quarterfinals.
Senior Nkosi Graham led the way, scoring a school-record and area-best 38 goals and adding six assists. Graham finished his brilliant HGP career with a school record 73 goals.
His speed and elusiveness wreaked havoc with opposing defenders and earned him a Division I scholarship to the University of Evansville. In addition to being named the BAL Independence Player of the Year, Graham earned all-state and regional All-American honors and was also named the area MVP for soccer by the Bucks County Courier Times.
Graham wasn’t the only Holy Ghost Prep starter to earn postseason accolades. Ethan Rupperberger, a senior defender who signed with East Stroudsburg University, and Tyler Weimert, a junior midfielder who notched 10 goals and 14 assists, both joined Graham on the season-end Bucks County Courier Times “Golden Team.”
With Graham, Rupperberger, and Zach Moore heading off college next fall, Weimert, a first-team All-BAL performer, will be one of the on-field leaders in 2019—along with returning all-leaguer performers TJ Butler, Max Guilana, and Stefen Melekos.

Info. for guests:
Tickets/Parking – Tickets and Parking are free. Lot BVIP will be open for all parking and there will be no parking attendants on site. Lot BVIP is directly next to the practice fields on the West side of the stadium. Parking map here.
Concession Stands – We will have one concession stand open. No alcohol will be sold.
Entrance into the Stadium – The gate will open at 6pm. The only entrance that will be open is the Supporters Gate. That is the closest entrance to Lot B and on the Southwest side of the stadium. That means it’s on the river side and on the opposite side of the bridge. It does say Supporters Gate on the outside.
Union Shop – This wasn’t originally the plan but we did get this approved. The Union Shop (located behind section 112) should be open until a little after half-time of the second match.
Sitting Arrangement – Holy Ghost Prep will be in sections 102-106 and William Tennent will be in 108-111. 107 will not be available for seating.
Info. for teams:
Locker Rooms – Both teams will have access to a locker room.
Rosters and starting lineup – We will need the rosters and everyone playing in the game will need to sign attached waivers. Please let us know who the starters will be that way we can announce the starting lineups. Letting us know the day of the game is fine
Warm-ups – Warm-ups will take place on the field from 6:00-6:40. Then can head back into the locker room for pre-game speeches. 6:50 everyone can report to the players tunnel and we will bring both teams and the referees out together for national anthem.
Field usage – We will ask for the teams help on this. We ask to only have varsity players and coaches to be on the field at any time.
Walk out to field – After warm-ups we do ask everyone to go back to locker room. We will have bench players and coaches walk out first. Then we will play the MLS theme song to have the starting lineups and refs walk to.
Team Photos – I think it is important to take some team photos on the field. We can do this post-game.
