HGP Hockey - Summer Info

SEASON NEWS

Happy Summer!

With the school year almost upon us, I wanted to give you some very brief ice hockey program updates.

1. HGP has completed a new branding project. Part of this includes cycling out sports uniforms. Since the hockey players purchase their uniforms, it is not possible to cycle them out over time. Therefore, we are replacing our white and blue jerseys with no cost to the returning players. Please click on the link below and complete the RETURNER form to help us place our new jersey order. Please complete this by August 15, 2017.

2. Many of you are aware that HGP Alum Jim Britt '00 works for the Pittsburgh Penguins. In his role as the Director of Team Operations, Jim gets many really cool benefits, including having his name engraved on the Stanley Cup and gets to spend "A day with the cup." This year, he has chosen to spend his day at HGP. More details will be available later, but the Stanley Cup is coming to HGP.

3. NEW players should complete the link below for their uniform purchase. If you do not make the team, or decide not to play, you will be refunded any purchase you've made for jerseys, sox or bags. You will not be refunded any monies for jacket purchases. Jackets will not be ordered until after the teams are chosen. You will be able to order a jacket later.

4. All players can begin making payments for the hockey season fees. The cost is $1700 for the season. You can make credit card payments below. If you want to pay with a check or with cash, please send me a message.

5. We are working on the season calendar. More information will be posted on our website soon. Check www.holyghostprep.org/icehockey for the most up to date information. We will also post the date of our pre-season parent meeting.

6. For planning purposes:

Optional: Open Skates After School: 9/20/17 & 9/27/17

Tryouts: 10/3/17, 10/4/17, 10/5/17

All at Grundy. All 330-430. Transportation provided by HGP to Grundy.

All players, returning and new, will need to complete the Impact Concussion Testing. It does not matter if you've completed this with a club team. If you take it for a fall sport, you do no need to do it again. More information will be provided on the day for hockey players to take the test. It will be before tryouts.

Players participating in soccer, cross country, golf or rowing are not allowed to participate in or tryout for ice hockey until that season is completed. If you want to play those sports, PLAY THOSE SPORTS. There is no penalty for trying out for hockey after the fall season ends.
