9 HGP seniors recognized at early-decision acceptance ceremony

During the Feb. 6 morning meeting, nine members of Holy Ghost Prep’s Class of 2018 were recognized in front of the entire student body for recently receiving early-decision acceptance into some of the country’s most prestigious universities.

Early decision plans are binding—a student who is accepted as an early-decision applicant must attend that college.

"We begin a new tradition today at Holy Ghost Prep, where we will recognize those students who applied early decision to a college or university and were accepted," said Holy Ghost Prep president Gregory J. Geruson '79 at the school's first-ever early-decision acceptance ceremony. "We are so proud of these young men."

The nine Holy Ghost seniors, in alphabetical order, who earned early-decision acceptance were:

Corry Arnold                   Boston University

Grayson Bautz                College of the Holy Cross

Ryan Callahan                 Emory University (Emory College)

Eric D’Angelo                  University of Pennsylvania (College of Arts and Sciences)

Connor Fife                     Gettysburg College

Brian Gabriele                 Johns Hopkins University

Matthew Hofmann           University of Pennsylvania (School of Engineering and Applied Science’s VIPER program)

Aleks Seibel                    Lafayette College

Mark Seibert                   Gettysburg College

“I am extremely proud of these eight Holy Ghost students who gained early-decision acceptance into premier colleges and universities,” said AnnMarie Dougherty, the director of college guidance at Holy Ghost Prep. “They are all prepared to make a difference within their college communities, just like they are doing in ours.”
