Holy Ghost Prep received the 2015-16 PIAA District 1 Sportsmanship Award at the Sept. 14 meeting of District 1 principals and athletic directors at the Westover Golf Club in Norristown.
“This honor is a tribute to our students, coaches, parents and fans of HGP athletics,” said Holy Ghost Prep athletic director Jim Stewart. “We have a proud tradition of success in athletics, and to be considered a leader in sportsmanship is just as meaningful.”
Holy Ghost Prep principal Jeff Danilak was thrilled to see the school’s athletic program receive this recognition for its collective sportsmanship.
“Congratulations to Jim Stewart and the entire athletic department for receiving the PIAA Sportsmanship Award! Recipients of this award demonstrate, in more than one instance, a special effort that reflects a true understanding of sportsmanship as it relates to interscholastic athletics,” said Danilak.
