Terrific turnout for annual HGP alumni soccer game

On October 8, a significant number of former Holy Ghost Prep soccer players dusted off their cleats to play in the school’s annual alumni game.

In addition to gathering together to play the game, the event also served as a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Holy Ghost Prep winning the 1991 Eastern Pennsylvania state title.

To commemorate the event, the players—no matter what decade they played in—gathered for a team photo.

The players pictured are (standing, from left to right): Devon D'Andrea ’06, Andy McGill ’82, Bryan Affeldt ’07, Justin Buzogany ’11, Luca Ruggiero ’09, Dan Affeldt ’09, Luke Murray ’09, Pat Dillon ’02, Michael Quinn-Willauer ’04, Larry Scheetz ’98, Matt D'Andrea ’98, Jack Higgins ’92, Joe Collopy ’92, Joe Nick ’92 and Fran Nick.

Kneeling in the front row (from left to right): Jack Shouldis ’89, Tim Ireland ’81, Jimmy Foraker ’97, Brendan Ireland ’03, Steve Buzogany ’09, Chris Deon ’89, Brendan Mastil ’09, Nick Zamparelli ’96, Chris Nork ’96, Steve Mastil ’92, Nick D’Andrea ’95 and Ryan Mastil ’95.
