Basket Donations: Each year, the Mothers' Guild puts together several themed baskets that are raffled off at the Craft Show, generating nearly $13,000 in funds to directly help our boys. Cash donations/gift cards to cover an item on our list are also appreciated. Please bring your donations to the September 17 or October 2 Mothers' Guild meeting.  You may also send the item with your son to drop off at the main office (no alcohol sent in). If this is not possible, please contact Becky Gabriele to arrange for a committee member to pick up your item.

Please call Becky Gabriele at (215) 499-7750 with any questions or email at beckygabriele@verizon.net

Please click here to access the Craft Show Baskets Sign-Up Genius.

Memory Project portraits were delivered to Tanzania

Fifteen HGP artists participated in the Memory Project during the 2016-2017 school year. Last year, HGP artists created portraits of children from Tanzania. Karen Smallen and her students were especially happy to get the photos of Tanzanian children because of the Holy Ghost Fathers’ presence in that African nation. The drawings took several hours to complete.

The portraits were delivered over the summer and the Memory Project recipients put together a thank you video. To view the video, click here.

Last year’s Memory Project artists were Hugh Collins, Graham Gibbs, Pioty Cymbalski, Jake Lawall, Dante DeSanctis, Jack Zhou, Cooper Pandorf, Patrick Oniate, Tom Forkin, Chris Aileo, Own Yake, Bryan Kelleher, Bruce Jiang, Eric Lorenzo, and Dean Guiliano.

Nice additions to the nurse's office

The nurse's office has two notable additions to its décor this year, a Holy Ghost Prep blanket that science teacher Amanda Coopersmith made out of HGP t-shirts (it took eight hours from start to finish, she says) and a shirt pillow that Ann Bushek, R.N., our school nurse, made out of old forensics shirts.

“I heard Ryan Abramson talking about extra shirts and thought it would be a good addition to the wonderful decorations Anne always has in the nurse's office,” says Coopersmith. “I also know each of my children really liked having a piece of home with them when they each got sick the first semester (as college students tend to do) and thought it might bring a bit of comfort to any sick students while waiting to go home. I think the shirt pillow Ann made finishes off the set nicely.”

Job opening -- Director of Counseling

Director of Counseling: The Director of Counseling develops, maintains, organizes, and implements programs and classes which help foster adolescent development of HGP students.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years counseling in the high school setting or its equivalent. Certification in counseling with a master’s degree is preferred. The candidate’s primary focus is to work with  existing programs and special initiatives to promote the social, emotional and academic development of college-bound young men. This person will also help us build out  and further enhance a best practices approach for our social and emotional programs, as well as managing appropriate records for students.
