Parent chaperones needed for 2018 West Virginia trips
In the spring of 2018, Holy Ghost Prep is hoping to offer not one, but two “Taste of Mission” trips to West Virginia. While in West Virginia, HGP groups usually help with home repair and maintenance projects. The school is seeking four parents of junior and senior students (to whom the trip is open) to assist the faculty chaperones with driving and general supervision. No previous construction experience is required.
Two parents will be needed March 27- March 31, and two more will be needed April 2-6. Parent chaperones must have a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance. Parents will also need to acquire necessary background checks/clearances, as well as complete online training modules for the school’s youth protection program. All costs for parent chaperones are covered by the school.
Details about the trip were unveiled to students on October 31. Interested students can obtain an information sheet from Mr. Fitzpatrick.
If interested in being a chaperone or to make inquiries, please contact Mr. Fitzpatrick at jfitzpatrick@holyghostprep.org by December 15 so that planning for the trips can proceed as necessary. Thank you!

At the end of each year, proceeds are distributed to several non-profits, including Holy Ghost Prep. Holy Ghost Prep then awards this scholarship to the senior recipient.
Classmates, parents, and friends of Frank Marx may purchase a raffle ticket by clicking

The Fathers' Association Chrismas Blessings Program
Once again, the Fathers’ Association of Holy Ghost Preparatory School will be sponsoring the annual Christmas Blessings Program. This program reaches out to aid nearby parish families that are truly in need of assistance. For several years now, the overwhelming generosity of the HGP community has enriched the lives of hundreds of families during the Christmas season.
Imagine for a moment that you were unable to provide a simple gift for your children or a simple holiday meal to share with your family. How might you feel? For some local families, this is a reality. Last year, we embarked on a new mission with Christmas Blessings. A mission to restore parental dignity by affording parents the opportunity to shop for their family through the use of donated gift cards.
This year, we are continuing that mission. We are petitioning members of the HGP Community to graciously consider adopting a family in need and provide them with the opportunity to shop for their family with donated gift cards. We ask that gift cards be from designated local retail stores and that a gift card to a designated local food store also be provided such that the family may purchase the necessary ingredients for a holiday meal. Donating pharmacy or even gas cards would also be very helpful. In some cases, families provided some wish items. Please consider them in your generosity.
Information regarding family selection and registration can be found here.
For larger families of five or more, we encourage two HGP donor families share in the effort together.
Our collection for all Christmas Blessing donations will be Sunday, December 10, 2017. Please join us in the Chapel for Mass starting at 9:00 a.m. Gift cards and presents will then be collected from 10:00 am until noon in the dining hall. All donations must be delivered to HGP by noon so that we may then deliver the packages to the various parishes that afternoon. We thank you for your understanding.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Ron Marcinkowski via email at foxlockron@gmail.com or phone at 215-416-6826.
Thank you in advance for your compassion and generosity! It will make a difference in the lives of those in need.
God Bless!
2017-2018 Semester 1 Exam Information Schedule
For the 2017-2018 school year, Holy Ghost Preparatory School will administer Semester 1 exams the week before Christmas break, December 18 to December 22. The main advantages to this schedule are that students have a consistent workflow, follow a collegiate model, and have both a true Christmas break without the pressure of upcoming exams, and a fresh beginning with the start of Semester 2 after the Christmas holiday.
In the coming weeks, the annual HGP Christmas ball will become available for sale. Proceeds from the sales of the HGP Christmas ball will benefit Magnicat Houses in Houston (http://magnificathousesinc.org/Home.html), a Spiritan group that is helping hurricane victims in Houston to put roofs over their heads and put their lievs back together.
Catalano Studio gift certificates are still available for purchase to help support the Mothers' Guild until Dec. 8th. They can be used immediately for fall family portraits or senior portraits taken on the grounds of Holy Ghost. Click here to order online
Go above and beyond with your son in capturing his monumental high school moments with a Senior Portrait from Catalano Studio. Jeani Grady, award winning Master Photographer and owner of Catalano, has been asked to document the Holy Ghost seniors’ drive for excellence. Her portraits are more than just photos, they capture the face of Holy Ghost and the components of a strong young man. Your son's portrait will also be featured in special section in the yearbook.
You send your son to Holy Ghost for an extraordinary experience, so let Catalano capture their picture perfect senior year in an extraordinary portrait.
