Mothers' Guild Craft Show raises record-setting amount for HGP

Holy Ghost Prep’s Mothers’ Guild Craft Show drew a large crowd for its annual Christmas Dinner on December 4.

At the dinner, representatives of the Mothers’ Guild presented Holy Ghost president Greg Geruson with a check that represented the funds raised at the Mothers’ Guild’s Annual Craft Show. The Craft Show raised a record-setting $45,000 for Holy Ghost Prep, and that money will help to provide for the audio technology system in the Frank Frederico Performing Arts Theater in the soon-to-open Holt Center.

“The Mothers’ Guild works tirelessly year after year to make the Craft Show one of the premier events of the school year,” says Mr. Geruson. “I can’t thank them enough for all of their hard work this year and for their extraordinary generosity, which will make a tremendous impact on both our new theater and in the lives of our students.”

Mothers' Guild Christmas Dinner Thank You

Special thanks to the Freshman Moms and Representatives, volunteers, and the Junior and Senior Vice Presidents for hosting the very festive Mothers' Guild Christmas Dinner on December 4th.

At the dinner, we celebrated the success of our 2017 Craft Show by presenting Mr. Gregory Geruson with a check. The proceeds from the Craft Show will help to provide for installation of the audio technology system in the Holt Center Theater. This year's Craft Show raised a record-setting $45,000!

Our poinsettia fundraiser was a success again this year. Special thanks to Rita Charlton for chairing the sale, and to all who purchased poinsettias. The chapel altar, as the picture below shows, looked beautiful adorned with the donated poinsettias.

Also, thank you to Jodi Zelinsky for chairing the St. John's Hospice Shoebox drive. We appreciate the generosity of all who donated the shoeboxes for homeless men.

There will not be a general meeting in January. The next meeting will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018.

The Mothers Guild would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year!

Dear Parents,

The College Guidance Team has arranged for a 3-day, 2-night college tour of schools in the Boston area. This trip will include schools like Tufts, Harvard, Northeastern, Boston College, Boston University, and MIT.  This trip will take place April 3-5.  You can take this trip and participate in the LEAP program if selected.

Space on the tour is first come, first served!

Student spots remain for 2018 West Virginia service trips

In the spring of 2018, Holy Ghost Prep is hoping to offer not one, but two “Taste of Mission” trips to West Virginia. The first trip is scheduled fior March 27-31; the second one for April 2-6 . While in West Virginia, HGP groups usually help with home repair and maintenance projects.

Twelve of the sixteen spots for the March 27-31st trip have been claimed.  The trip scheduled for April 2-6th is still completely open.  The school is hoping for a minimum of eight students to offer the second trip.  Interested students should see Mr. Fitzpatrick for a handout.

Francis J. Marx '00 Memorial Scholarship Fund

Please support the Frank Marx Scholarship fund that is offered to a rising senior each year in memory of Frank Marx '00.  This fund, run by a separate 501(c)3, collects money each year through several events and fundraisers.  At the end of each year, proceeds are distributed to several non-profits, including Holy Ghost Prep.  Holy Ghost Prep then awards this scholarship to the senior recipient.
Classmates, parents, and friends of Frank Marx may purchase a raffle ticket by clicking here.  Thank you for supporting the fund and scholarships at Holy Ghost Prep.

2017-2018 Semester 1 Exam Information Schedule

The main advantages to this schedule are that students have a consistent workflow, follow a collegiate model, and have both a true Christmas break without the pressure of upcoming exams, and a fresh beginning with the start of Semester 2 after the Christmas holiday.
