Diversity Day trip The World Language Department took Holy Ghost Prep's sophomore class to Philadelphia for a guided walking tour of murals on April 17th. The tour, organized by Mural Arts Philadelphia, took them through Philadelphia diverse neighborhoods to look at 15 murals illustrating the theme of diversity. The tour ended at the Reading Terminal Market where the students enjoyed lunch of their choice.

HGP takes part in Senator for a Day program A group of HGP students recently attended Senator Tomlinson's Senator for a Day program at Bucks County Technical High School. This seminar allows students the opportunity to role play as a State Senator in a mock legislative session. Your students will have the chance to select one of five committees that is of interest to them. Each committee will address two pieces of legislation. The students are encouraged to study the topics and come prepared to debate and discuss the features of the bills. As in past years, our HGP students took to the day's activities very well and often took a leading role during debates. Swing for the fences and celebrate our five PIAA District championship baseball teams Break out your bat and glove and join HGP varsity baseball coach Vince Rossomando '02, the HGP Alumni Association, and former Holy Ghost baseball teammates on Saturday, April 28. All 5 of HGP's PIAA District Championship Baseball Teams will also be honored at this annual alumni gathering: 1985, 1990, 2003, 2013, and 2015! The varsity team baseball will take on Archbishop Wood High School in a battle between two of the area's best teams at noon, followed by the Alumni Home Run Derby at 3:00 p.m. It's a great time to come together and reunite with fellow alums and former teammates. Course Registration 2018-19 The 2018-2019 Course Registration is complete. College guidance counselors have met with all members of the junior and sophomore classes. Course selection verification forms have been sent home for parent signatures and have been returned. All requested courses are now entered in PowerSchool and can be viewed and verified by choosing the “Class Registration” tab on the left upon login. Any changes in course requests will be updated in PowerSchool as they occur. Please keep in mind that at this time these are only course requests and enrollment in electives cannot be guaranteed as conflicts will occur. Please check the course requests regularly and, if there are any concerns, please contact the current teacher, department chair, or Dean of Studies.
2018-19 Online Enrollment Contracts Due Immediately Enrollment contracts and back-to-school forms were due on Monday, April 16th in order to secure a place for your son for the upcoming 2018-19 school year. Alumni Dinner Thank You At our April 9 meeting, we welcomed back to HGP more than 50 alumni moms and guardians. They were treated to a tour of The Holt Center, followed by Mass and a catered dinner shared with current moms and guardians.
A warm thank you to our Senior Grade Representatives, Toni Arnone, Kate Lawall, Cathleen Parsons, and Teri Seibert and our Alumni Representatives, Anne Marie Horgan and Stephanie Marcinkowski for planning this wonderful event. We also thank our Hospitality Coordinators, Peggy McLean and Joanie Cancelliere, the senior moms who volunteered and donated items for the celebration, and our alumni moms who participated in the liturgy. Traditionally, the junior, sophomore, and freshman mothers join together to host a reception honoring our graduates and their families after the ceremony. Help is needed setting up the Field House on Friday June 1, serving and cleaning up on Saturday June 2, and donating cases of water, desserts, cheese & crackers and fruit. HGP Spring College Day Holy Ghost Prep juniors participated in the annual HGP Spring College Day on Tuesday, April 17. Sixty-one colleges and universities visited campus that day. Each HGP junior participated in a 15-minute interview process with five colleges and universities, and also took part in three important breakout sessions—including Kaplan Test Prep for the SAT and ACT, and presentations by HGP alums on college survival and finance. Teaching positions for 2018-19 With the new additions to facilities and curriculum, there is an opportunity for each and every student to find his place at Holy Ghost Preparatory School. We are so very proud of the advancements we have made and the goals we have to improve the education of our young men.
