Dear Holy Ghost Prep families,

We hope that you had a blessed Easter and that you are taking some time to re-energize and recharge over spring break. During this time, we hope your sons continue to take advantage of our optional breakthrough programming. To date, we've had over 150 students involved!

Gov. Tom Wolf's announcement last week that all schools will be closed for the rest of the academic year was made to ensure the safety and health of all residents of our state. But it was nonetheless upsetting to our students and our faculty—particularly our graduating seniors.

But true to our Spiritan charism to meet your sons where they are, we will do everything in our power to ensure that the Class of 2020's signature events will take place.

If the restrictions are lifted in June, the Class of 2020 signature celebrations will be held on the following dates:

June 24: Junior/Senior Prom

June 25: Graduation Practice and Senior Class Portrait (in college T-shirts)

June 26: Baccalaureate Mass

June 27: Commencement

We will continue to monitor the situation and if we need to move these key senior events later into the summer, we will.

We have a few additional announcements:

We are completing our plan for final exams, and we will share the details with you on Friday, April 17.

This is a reminder that was shared last week: Students enrolled in AP courses are expected and encouraged to take their AP exams. However, given that COVID-19 has created many unforeseen circumstances, students can request to opt out of an AP exam. Requests must be made by Wednesday, May 6. They will be reviewed by administration and approved or denied. If you opt out of an AP exam, you will be required to complete an alternative assessment. For more detailed information: click here.

This is a reminder to a few families to re-enroll your son at Holy Ghost Prep for the 2020-21 school year by clicking here. For planning purposes for next year, we would appreciate having your online re-enrollment forms completed by Monday, April 20th. We are here to assist you in the re-enrollment process. There are three interesting "Breakthrough" sessions tomorrow—a College Essay Writing session for the Class of 2021; a visit with the college rep from Wake Forest University; and a 90-minute E-Sports Competition with Mr. Jacobs, our director of IT—as well as "First Friday" musical performances by current HGP students beginning at noon on Friday.
