May 8, 2020
Dear Holy Ghost Prep senior parents,
We often talk about creating a Spiritan community in "one heart and one mind" here at Holy Ghost Prep. We want our students to leave here with a deeper understanding—of themselves, their classmates, and beyond. We challenge each of our students to learn that the world is more than calculus, Spanish, or robotics. We show them how to have faith while thinking differently and nimbly. We teach them how to hone their unique gifts and to serve others, so they can, in turn, change the world.
This is not how we thought your sons' final chapters at Holy Ghost Prep would be written. But if this COVID-19 situation has reminded us of anything, it's how much our relationships, our bonds matter. We miss all of our students—your sons. We care about you, miss you, and want to celebrate with you and the Class of 2020 as best we can.
This celebration will not replace graduation; it's simply a fun, safe and special way to celebrate the Class of 2020, your family and members of the HGP community. Everyone must abide by all social distancing protocols. More details to come.
As we've mentioned before, we will do everything in our power to ensure that the Class of 2020's signature events will take place.
We have a few other Class of 2020-specific announcements:
Please enjoy this Mothers' Day weekend, and we will be in touch again this Sunday with "Happenings at HGP" and then again next Wednesday.
We may be physically apart, but we are always an HGP community together "in one heart and one mind."
In One Heart and One Mind,
Gregory J. Geruson '79 President
