Jarrod Padilla '18 recognized at Bucks County Volunteer of the Year Awards

Holy Ghost Prep senior Jarrod Padilla was recognized at the 24th annual Bucks County Teen Volunteer of the Year Awards on April 25 at Bucks County Community College.

Padilla, a member of Holy Ghost Prep's National Honor Society who will attend Penn State University in the fall, has volunteered at HGP for the past four years with the CARES Walk for cancer research and in the school’s Christmas Blessings drives to help needy families provide a Christmas celebration for their children.

Padilla, who serves as a campus minister at Holy Ghost Prep, has also helped the YWCA for the past four years, donating his time from camps to fundraising events. He is also a four-year member of Holy Ghost Prep’s track and field and Ultimate Frisbee teams.

“Balancing all the things high school students do is a difficult task today, but Jarrod always found a way to be available to volunteer his time,” says Mark Whartenby, Holy Ghost Prep’s director of campus ministry and service. “An important part of our Holy Ghost Prep’s mission is service, and Jarrod has exceeded the expectations the school has, and committed to many service opportunities—both at school and in the community.

“Jarrod is an outstanding young man who has spent much of his time at Holy Ghost Prep not only enriching himself but actively helping those in need.”
