For a second straight year, Penn State University’s star goalie Peyton Jones, a 2014 HGP alum, has been nominated for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, which is given annually to the top college ice hockey player in the nation.
Holy Ghost Prep junior Philip Lee’s plate is full between an AP-laden course load, a time and energy-consuming varsity sport in swimming, and his involvement in mock trial and Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science (TEAMS) competitions. But despite the many demands on his time, Lee excels at everything he attempts.
With the 2020 PIAA District 1 seeding meeting just around the corner, Holy Ghost Prep (15-3 record) sits at No. 4 in the PIAA District Class 5A rankings—behind only West Chester East, Penncrest, and Unionville. But Tyler Mish and the Firebirds will need to keep winning to keep their lofty seed.
Holy Ghost Prep artists are once again exhibiting their work at the Phillips Mill Youth Art Exhibit. This year, the five HGP artists who are exhibiting their work at Phillips Mill are: Jack Nycz, Liam Farrell, Jack Keating, Henry Yost, and Schuyler Cauley.
Holy Ghost Prep recently placed teams first, third, and fourth in the state of Pennsylvania in the CyberPatriot’s National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. The competition challenges teams from all over the globe to find and resolve cyber security vulnerabilities in simulated environments.
Thanks to the collective generosity of the Holy Ghost Prep community, the Holy Ghost Prep Fathers Association’s annual Christmas Blessings initiative was able to collect nearly $30,000 in gift cards—providing the gift of Christmas to 70 area families in need.
